Matthew Bonas Yoga Inc

Matthew approached me with a compelling challenge: to help him stand out in the crowded health and wellness space, an industry notorious for its visually homogeneous branding. Many companies in this sector often fall into the trap of using similar aesthetics, resulting in a lack of differentiation and ultimately contributing to their short-lived success. Understanding the need for a unique identity, I delved into the task of creating a visual system that would resonate with consumers while conveying the essence of Matthew's brand.

Drawing inspiration from vintage beer labels, I envisioned a design aesthetic that would evoke nostalgia and authenticity, qualities often absent in the health and wellness market. These labels are known for their bold typography, intricate illustrations, and vibrant colors—elements that can create an engaging narrative around a product. By reinterpreting these classic design features, I aimed to craft a brand identity that was not only fresh and distinct but also imbued with character.

To ensure the new branding would appeal to the health-focused audience, I selected a color palette that was both inviting and calming. Soft, earthy tones combined with pops of brighter hues create a balanced and approachable visual experience. This choice not only speaks to the wellness aspect of the brand but also makes the products feel accessible and relatable to consumers.

The result was a comprehensive brand system that included packaging, logo design, and marketing materials—all unified under a distinct visual language. By merging the nostalgic charm of vintage beer labels with a modern twist, we successfully created a brand identity that stands out in a saturated market, captures the attention of consumers, and reflects Matthew's vision for his health and wellness business. Ultimately, this new identity not only differentiates the brand from its competitors but also establishes a strong emotional connection with its audience, inviting them to engage with the products on a deeper level.
