Working on the This Way album with DJ Jazzy Jeff and Ayah was not just a career milestone—it was a surreal and deeply personal experience. As a graphic designer, collaborating with Jeff, someone I grew up watching on television and whose music I admired for years, felt like a dream come true. It was incredible to be part of a project that brought his legendary talent together with the soulful voice of Ayah, a longtime friend and collaborator.

Ayah and I had worked together on her first album, so being able to join forces again on this project made it even more special. Our creative partnership had already flourished over the years, and contributing to this album’s visual identity felt natural. I aimed to capture the timeless and emotionally charged essence of their music through the artwork, bringing a visual representation that complemented the depth and emotion embedded in every track. To be involved in this project, which blends the worlds of two artists I hold in such high regard, was truly a full-circle moment.

The collaboration between Jazzy Jeff and Ayah began organically through MySpace, where the two connected over their shared love for creating genuine, authentic music. After years of working together in the studio, they developed a musical chemistry that shines through on This Way. The album seamlessly blends Ayah’s enchanting melodies and emotive lyricism with Jeff’s soulful beats and masterful production.
